James W. Malanowski LUTCF
Founder and owner (Call me Jim)
A native Oregonian, Jim graduated from Tigard High School and went on to earn a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Oregon. After graduation, he moved back to Portland to take employment with a nationally recognized bank, overseeing areas of both branch and credit card administration statewide.
In 1982, Jim left the bank to pursue a career in insurance and financial planning. Since his founding of Green Line NW, LLC, he has helped hundreds of clients and operates three offices in the greater Portland Metro Area (Milwaukie, Gresham, and Beaverton), as well as an office in Vancouver, WA. We attribute our growth to two factors: our personal approach to each client and client satisfaction. The belief of the Green Line NW, LLC team is to provide a sound, holistic financial plan for retirement, which should include well-defined strategies to address such risks as longevity, market volatility, and unexpected illness.

Katie Ramsthel

Client Event Coordinator/Director of Policy Services
As the Client Event Coordinator and Director of Policy Services for Green Line NW LLC, Katie is responsible for scheduling educational client events, both online and in-person. In addition, Katie manages the back office support, which involves assisting clients with policy changes of all varieties (beneficiary changes, address updates, withdrawals, etc.). With her caring nature, Katie helps our clients feel valued and heard.
She began working with Green Line NW, LLC as the Scheduling Coordinator, before transitioning into her current role. She loves getting to know our clients and enjoys providing top-notch service. In addition, Katie regularly attends industry events and training sessions.
Katie grew up in both the Portland and Silverton areas. She is close with her siblings and enjoys taking trips to the coast whenever she has the opportunity.

Julia Foster

Director of New Business
Julia Foster is currently the Director of New Business for Green Line NW. Prior to holding this position, she was the Scheduling Coordinator. Her current job comes with the responsibilities of processing client applications, submitting transfer paperwork, and preparing client files for reviews. Julia is dedicated to keeping track of the details and minutia of ensuring the business runs smoothly. Her goal is to make sure clients know they’re in good hands with Green Line NW’s process of helping them, so they have one less thing to worry about.
Prior to working with Green Line NW, LLC, Julia was a professional ballet dancer and also worked in the hospitality industry. She earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2018, with majors in English and Dance. She also has experience in social media and website management.
Julia grew up in Minnesota and moved to Portland after college to perform with a ballet company. She enjoys being outdoors, watching Jeopardy with her husband, and curling up with her cat and a good book.
Chantell Woods

Director of Seminars/Scheduling Coordinator
Chantell Woods is the Director of Seminars and Scheduling Coordinator for Green Line NW. Her job comes with the tasks of scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and emails, keeping the calendar up to date, handling registration for events, and creating prospect accounts.
Chantell enjoys the work she does at Green Line NW because of the kind people she gets to interact with, both clients and her fellow employees. She’s funny, outgoing, and always smiling.
When not working, she enjoys movies, roller skating, and spending time with her daughter.
Zander Prida

Office Assistant/Assistant Appointment Setter
Zander Prida is an Office Assistant/Assistant Appointment Setter. They attend all seminar events we host to get things set up and keep the event running smoothly. When not doing that, they help out in other ways, like handling filing or sending out mail like birthday invitations and annual review reminders.
Zander grew up in Southern California and earned a Bachelor’s from San Francisco State University. They previously worked in another office assistant role and have also done some photography and video editing work. Zander started working with us here at Green Line NW because they wanted to work somewhere where they’d have the opportunity to help people. Zander enjoys the welcoming atmosphere and the fact that the work they do makes clients happy.
Zander is thoughtful, helpful, and kind. In their free time, they enjoy photography and discovering new hobbies.
